About Invoicary

Invoicary is a free online invoice generator built around one idea: making a professional invoice should take seconds, not a signup. Fill in a simple form, watch the invoice build live, and download a clean PDF — no account, no watermark, no upsell to use the basics.

Why Invoicary exists

Invoicary is built and run by Nico, an independent developer. The project started from a familiar frustration: needing to send one invoice and being met with account creation, email verification, a “free trial”, and a form that uploads your client list to someone else's server — all for a single PDF. Most invoicing products are designed to pull you into a subscription; the invoice itself is almost an afterthought.

So Invoicary takes the opposite approach: the invoice is the whole product. Open the page, fill it in, download it, get paid. Done.

Private by design — how it actually works

Unlike most invoice tools, Invoicary runs entirely in your browser. The form, the live preview and the PDF generation are all client-side JavaScript — your business details, clients, amounts and logo are never transmitted to a server. There is no database of your invoices because the data simply never leaves your device. To save you re-typing next time, your business profile is stored in your own browser's localStorage, which you can clear with one click. The details are in our privacy policy.

What it does

What it isn't

Invoicary is an invoicing tool, not accounting software. It won't reconcile your bank account, chase payments automatically or file your taxes — tools like Wave or Zoho Books do that, and we compare ourselves to them honestly in our comparison pages. If you just need to bill a client and move on, that focus is exactly the point.

How it stays free

The tool is free to use, with no feature paywall and no watermark. To cover its costs the site may show unobtrusive advertising — never inside your invoice, and never at the expense of the tool working quickly.
