Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 16, 2026
The short version: your invoice data never leaves your device. Invoicary is a client-side tool — the invoices you create, your business details, client information and uploaded logo are processed entirely in your browser and are never uploaded to or stored on our servers. The rest of this policy explains, in plain language, what limited data the site does collect and how it is used.
1. Invoice data: processed on your device only
Everything you type into the invoice generator — business and client names, addresses, line items, amounts, notes, bank details, and any logo you upload — is handled by JavaScript running in your browser. It is not transmitted to us or to any third party. Generating the PDF also happens locally on your device.
2. What we store in your browser (localStorage)
To save you re-typing, your business profile and your most recent invoice are saved in your browser's localStorage — on your computer only. This data never reaches our servers. You can wipe it at any time with the “Clear data” button in the tool, or by clearing your browser storage.
3. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand, in aggregate, which pages are useful and how the site performs. These services use cookies and similar technologies and may collect your approximate location (from your IP address), device and browser type, and pages visited. They never see the contents of your invoices.
- You can opt out of our analytics entirely by visiting any page with
?gaoptout=1appended to the address. - You can also use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Invoicary itself does not require cookies to work — the tool functions without them. Cookies and similar technologies (such as web beacons and device identifiers) are used by the third-party services described in this policy: analytics (section 3) and advertising (section 5).
5. Advertising (Google AdSense)
To keep Invoicary free, we may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Where ads are shown, the following applies:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies (and similar technologies such as web beacons and IP addresses) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info.
- For details on how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, a consent banner (a Google-certified consent management platform) will ask for your choice before any advertising cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw your consent at any time.
6. Contact form
If you use our contact form, the name, email address and message you submit are delivered to our inbox via Web3Forms, a form-delivery service, and are used only to reply to you. We don't add you to any mailing list.
7. Your choices
- Use the tool without an account — we never ask for one.
- Clear locally saved data at any time (section 2).
- Opt out of analytics (section 3) and personalised ads (section 5).
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings — the invoice tool will keep working.
8. Children
Invoicary is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how data is handled — for example, when advertising goes live or a new service is added — we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
