Building an invoice in Google Sheets that actually works

Sheets is a legitimate way to run simple invoicing: set up a header block (your details, client, invoice number, dates), an items table where an Amount column multiplies quantity by rate, and totals driven by formulas — SUM for the subtotal, a tax cell that multiplies by your rate, and a grand total.
